I’m working on a project — sort of a dream I’ve had for a while — and was hoping for some help. Of course, when I get this project finished I’ll share it with you but in the mean time it’s a work in progress.
If you could sit with your/a bookkeeper free of charge for as long as you needed, what questions would you ask them and want them to answer/explain to you?
If you are a bookkeeper, what questions are your clients always asking you? (i.e. what do you find you have to explain to a lot of your clients?)
What about bookkeeping is confusing to you?
Couple other “standard” questions:
1. Do you do your own bookkeeping or outsource it?
2. If someone handed you a balance sheet would you be able to understand what it says?
3. If you were handed an Income Statement would you feel comfortable looking at it to get information?
3. How do you handle your own bookkeeping (paper, Quicken, QuickBooks, Excel spreadsheet, etc.)?
4. If you do your own bookkeeping, why? Are you comfortable doing it or does it seem cost prohibitive to hire someone to do it for you?
5. If you do your own bookkeeping do you have a professional review it? If so, how often?
