Ten Things to Avoid When Hiring Administrative Support Staff I read this article this morning on my news reader on my Google homepage. There are some great tips in here for hiring support staff. These tips are also great for hiring your first Virtual Assistant (or bookkeeper, etc.).

The one thing I would add that the author didn’t touch on was to look at your needs and determine if you really do need an in-house support person or if a virtual support person will benefit your company better. There are instances where an in-house person will be best. But, there are many times when the support of a virtual professional will give you greater advantages.
